TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14 (2)
Kent County Council gives notice that Swanton Lane, Lydden will be closed to through
traffic, on or after 6th February 2026 for up to 1 day. The road will be closed near to junction
with The Street.
The alternative routes are (1): Lydden Hill, Dover Road, A2 From Start Of Dualling West Of Lydden
To J A260 Nw, A2 From J A260/B2046 To End Of Dualling West Of Lydden Se, A2 J A260 Leave Nw, A2
Through J A260 Nw, Barham Slip Westbound Off,
Canterbury Road, The Street, Oak Hill, Swanton Lane
(2): Swanton Lane (C214), Oak Hill (C214), Canterbury Road (A260), Old Dover Road (A260), Box Iron
Road (A260), Barham Slip Eastbound, Barham Slip Eastbound On (A2), Dover Road (A2), Lydden Hill,
Swanton Lane (C214).
It is planned that the road will be closed between 08:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs each day.
This closure is necessary to enable carriageway repairs to be carried out by Kent County Council.
This Notice applies when the relevant signs and barriers are on site and is valid for a period of
no more than 5 days.
